celexa good or bad?


Question by sidekick: celexa good or bad?
have any of you had any sexual performance problems with this antidepressent? Was on paxal, no sex life been off it for couple of weeks, doctor put me on celexa 40 mg. to increase it to 60 in couple of weeks, do not like it so far, get hyper and angry, any oyher meds better? I think could be withdrawing from the paxil also.

first of all psychotropic drugs don’t have withdrawl because they aren’t addictive.

Second of all, almost all antidepressents mess with sex life. Wellbutrin was the first drug that specifically marketed to help that area. I think zoloft is supposed to have low sexual side effects too.

Third, would you rather be depressed (which you probably werent having sex anyway) ?

My advice: it take 4-6 weeks for a psychotropic to get into your system and stablize so give it some time. If a no go try the wellbutrin. Depression control is more important though, you may want to go see a therapist to learn coping skills, and maybe one day you wont have to have meds. MAYBE.
